Kitchen Suppression Systems
The basic function of a kitchen fire suppression system is to automatically detect a fire and put it out. The versatile state-of-the-art wet chemical distribution technique, combined with dual, independent activation capability, as well as automatic fusible link or manual release, provides efficient, reliable protection the moment a fire is detected. In addition to a kitchen fire suppression system, commercial restaurants must have available a portable pressurized wet chemical extinguisher.
Expanded capability provides automatic shutdown for gas equipment, propane, and your structure’s electrical system during an emergency. C0² Suppression Systems
Carbon dioxide (C0²) gas has a high ratio of expansion, which facilitates rapid discharge and allows for 3-dimensional penetration of the entire hazard area quickly. Carbon dioxide extinguishes a fire by reducing the oxygen content of the protected area below the point where it can support combustion. Carbon dioxide fire extinguishing systems typically store the agent in one of two different ways: in high-pressure cylinders, or in low-pressure CO² tanks.
The extreme density of the carbon dioxide allows it to quickly and effectively permeate the protected hazard area and suppress the fire. Rapid expansion of the 4-6 inches of carbon dioxide snow to gas acts to reduce the ambient temperature in the protected hazard area, which aids in the extinguishing process and retards re-ignition. CO² Is Non-Damaging
When designed, engineered, and installed properly, carbon dioxide fire suppression systems will not normally damage sensitive electronic equipment. Carbon dioxide has no residual clean-up associated with its use as a fire suppressing agent. When it is properly ventilated, the gas escapes to atmosphere after the fire has been extinguished.
CO² Is Electrically Non-Conductiv
Carbon dioxide fire extinguishing systems can be used to protect a wide variety of hazards, including marine applications, delicate electronic equipment, and high-voltage electrical equipment without danger or damage.
Elements of a CO² Fire Suppression System
A Carbon dioxide fire suppression system consists of one or more bank(s) of cylinder storage containers used to supply the CO² extinguishing agent. Flexible discharge bends, or hoses, connect the cylinders into a piping manifold. The manifold, in turn, distributes the agent into the piping network. Nozzles regulate the flow of CO² into the protected area.
